Great starter kite and beyond... way beyond!
This is a wonderful kite for anyone. I bought it to share with my children and hope to spark the same great memories that I have of kite flying. I believe this hit the nail on the head and pounded it through the floor as well! This kite is wonderful. Came shipped in a long cardboard box with inches to spare all around it, not a lot of bubble protection, but enough to support the usual dings and bumps along the way.The kite itself comes in a cheap but sufficient clear vinyl reusable bad with a plastic white snap at the top for repeated closure. I believe it also comes with a small area to hang the vinyl bag when not in use as well or for storage during the non-flying seasons.Contents of the kit are exactly what is listed. Just place the cross beam fiberglass rod in the provided pockets on either side and you are almost ready to go. Kite has ripstop nylon fabric and is sewn together with nice zig-zag seams throughout. Parts like the T-Rex eyebrows are actually small pieces of semi-ridged plastic sewn onto kite. Tail is same ripstop nylon and both red streamers seems like a different even thinner material but sufficient and hold up well to this point.Kite picks up in winds of 3-4 mph, sometimes even less and I've never needed a second person to help hold it for lift off. Every time I've flown it, I just hold it up in the air and it starts to pull (takes off flying), then I start letting line out as quickly as possible. We live in the midwest and are not flying near ocean or massive lake conditions (usually stronger winds in those areas) and most any day we choose we can fly the kite. I myself have a fair amount of kite experience and have flown a double string and quad string stunt and power kite for years. The line provided is ample for height and pulling pound strength, but I dislike the provided plastic handle as it takes forever to let the string out (unless you rock it back and forth very quickly), and takes even longer the wind the string back up. I would almost suggest buying a hoop style string winder to accompany this kite for a much better experience all around... especially when bringing the kite back in.I've had the kite in winds up to 15-20 mph and it held up nicely... it hasn't ripped or torn at all and visually it is recognizable and looks very bright and colorful even at close to 300 feet in the air.I wish the anchor attachment point on the kite itself included a small metal hook shank swivel connector so that I can properly connect it to the loop you tie in the line provided (line being the kite string spool). This would prevent the line from getting twisted and all around protect not only line snaps but damage to the anchor spot on the kite as well. As this part cost anywhere from .1 to .10 cents it would be a worthwhile investment for the manufacture to include. As an end user I will be purchasing one here on amazon or picking one up anywhere they sell fishing supplies.Lastly, I just wanted to say my kids love the kite. It has great presence and the T-Rex looks amazing. The colors pop, the material is nice but also light weight and it truly is an easy flyer! We have flown it 8 times in the last few weeks we have owned it with no problems. Other people at the parks have asked to fly it as well and it definitely sparks a lot of interest and admiration. I have had myself and children of the following ages: 1,3,4,5,8,10,13 all fly with NO problems (except the fact that you have to watch so they don't randomly let go to run and do something else!) Excellent product that seems like it has a long lifespan.

Great looking kite
I bought this kite for my grandson's birthday. When he seen it he just loved it. I can't comment on how well it flies because when I was there, there was so much going on he didn't really have any time to take it out and fly it. As soon as I hear how well it flies I will come back and update my comment. Update: My grandson has had this kite out quite a few times and he said that it flew great and it was very easy to get it up into the air. He really enjoyed flying it and really liked how it looked when it was floating through the air. I would definitely recommend this kite to anyvbody who is looking for a great kite that is easy and fun to fly and looks good too.

Nice kite
I got this one for my 6 year-old. It flies alright, doesn't loop too much. You need a lot of wind for it to stay aflight, but it's durable and withstandsthe nose dives. The kids love the image, looks more like a dragon in the airthan a dinosaur though.

Great quality, easy to use even without instructions
This kite went straight up in the air just like the other reviews said. I did have a problem with it being a little volatile once it was up, but that could have been the crazy wind in the California desert. I haven't flown a kite in 25 years so I'm far from an expert, but I thought this served its purpose well and my 3 year olds loved it. It's well constructed also, not flimsy at all.

Highest Flying Kite in the Sky!
Bought this for a friend's 4 year old, who is supposed to be too young to fly a kite. But it was easy to assemble and even easier to fly, that he learned quickly and lovingly.Made of great materials and quality, and the flight's aerodynamic design allows it to soar in the sky. I highly recommend this toy that keeps kids ACTIVE and excited. The accompanying kite reel/string is adequate, but not the best spool design on the market.

Not balanced
While my kids loved the look of this kite, it did not seem to be balanced very well. Fortunately it's sturdy as it feel quite a few times (even though a strong wind was blowing). We were at a beach and the wind was strong and steady, but every now and then for seemingly no reason it would suddenly dive to the left and plummet. We'd go find it (as I said, very sturdy) and try again but this kept happening enough that my kids lost interest in playing with it. I'll have to work on it a bit myself and see if I can't balance it out. It is neat looking though.

The Price Isn't A Premium, The Kite Is
Best kite I have ever owned. I'm not an avid kite guy, just needed something up to the challenge of entertaining my children after the failure of plastic film kites.Pros:Easy to launch, as described. Nylon material is comparable to tent fabric. The graphics are well done and my son loves the T-Rex and extra long tail. Survives "landings" well enough. After several, the kite appears no worse for the wear. Included string seems adequate. I fly at relatively low altitude per my son's preference (really loves the graphics!). The box it ships in makes for good storage and travel protection.Cons:Nothing stands out. This is exponentially better than the plastic film kites I had been flying (or failing to fly). More durable, easier to launch, reinforced grommet for string to tie in. Buy one, really.

Flying high again
My 6 year old loved it. It definitely is large and super easy to fly it also seems better built than the cheaper kites you find at toy stores
