this is decent. what I would expect for under $100. solid wood is gonna cost much more, new. the pros: easy assembly, feels solid (would use a dab or two of gorilla glue here and there if you don't want it to move, ever). finish is complimentary. multiple shelf positions to suit your needs.cons: the cheap 3/16" backing board is just Masonite, will see if it lasts with rearranging, relocating, wear and tear.one of the shelves is very tight in it's position, took a little force to get it in there.overall, its decent for the money. I added a couple remote/battery powered strip lights under the top most area and it gave the shelf a new life. looks very cool!so, take this as you will: this affordable headboard will probably last for a couple years if you have a preteen who likes to collect rocks... it could last several years with care. for $79, it's good enough for us. ymmv!

This headboard is really nice. Arrived in a well packaged container and all required pieces were included. From start to finish, it took several hours to put together. Looks great in our spare bedroom!

I really like my headboard. BUT...If I ever order another one, I will spring for the expert assembly! (Additional fee.)This thing was an absolute b*tch to build!!! (I'm a 65 yr old female and had VERY LITTLE help putting it together! 😢😖) AND...One of the screw cams brok!e (NO extras provided!) But, I was able to rig it to make it work.Other than that, I'm happy with it.It looks great and is totally functional!

It's particle board so the metal screws have to line up just so with the opposite hole, otherwise the board will split. I am going to Lowe's to buy some L brackets and some small screws to take the place of the hardware that was provided.

Very poor factory quality control. This is particle board with a plastic wood looking tape draped over it. A portion of a main support board that faces the displaying side, has a portion of missing wood about the size 3 1/2 inch circumference circle. Instead of filling it, the factory just placed the plastic veneer over it. Like plastic drum. The picture shows the side profile of the board missing the wood. Terrible.

Very nice & sturdy headboard. Purchased for a twin XL bed. Didn't find this difficult to assemble at all. I'm older, so just took my time & it went well. No deed to hesitate on ordering.

Typical do it yourself furniture quality. Great price. Be careful if you use a powerful for the screws...too high setting will cause screws to spin

Works well for a small room because with the shelves I don't need a nightstand. Was a little fiddlely to put together but in the end it is pretty sturdy
