Juentai USB Programming Cable for JT-6188 Mobile Radio With Driver CD

I initially had problems trying to read from the radio with this cable. After swapping both out, I finally figured out the problem.This cable does use a counterfeit Prolific chipset which didn't work with the newer Prolific driver because it checks for counterfeit devices. However, if you use an older version of the driver (for PL2302 ver 3.2.0.0 works) the cable functions how it should. The Miklor website has the driver necessary.If you're okay with that, this cable works as it should once set up. If you have Windows 7, you'll have to run the software in Windows XP compatibility mode. You will also need a compressed file extractor like Winrar or 7zip to get what you need out of the cabinet file on the CD. There's plenty of room on the CD so I'm not sure why they even bothered.Instructions are sparse, so feel free to ask if you get stuck on anything!

Does exactly what it should. No software from CHIRP for these radios but the factory stuff works as long as you have this cable.Programming these mini mobiles without a cable can be quite frustrating as they don't remember any sort of offset and both the rx and tx must be programmed, save yourself the heartache and buy this cable. The factory software is available free from miklor dot com.EDIT: CHIRP now supports these radios using this cable. Like the baofengs, make sure you have the correct driver as they all use a counterfeit prolific chip. Miklor has the correct driver to download for free. This cable did exactly what it is supposed to do without issue. The Juentai radio it was bought for, however, was dead within the week. Nevertheless, this cable also works with my new QYT radio flawlessly and is still going strong. If only the radio was built as well as the cable.

Great size and great idea for 462 and 2 meter in same radio BUT it is impossible to program at least by the instruction book and don't waste your money on the CD like I did. I cannot get it to load. I have a couple of channels programmed but most won't work. When will the Chinese learn to get Americans to write their books?

What can I say? It is said to be plug-n-play and would have programmed my radio as advertised if I had a Windows PC. I have a Mac and this does not get recognized on anything but Windows. So I had to return it for the BTech version. So don't make the mistake I did.

cord works great the program suxs and since it's not yet supported by Chirp it's a lot of copying and pasting. If you want to put in a reapeter you need to save it twice manually watch the You tube video to lean how helped a lot!

Perfect! Just what I needed! Why use the dials and menus to program your Juentai when you can use the programming cable and software? This is a perfect tool for the radio.
