Arrived unbroken.
These bricks have worked exactly as described. I purchased these as my previous forge had broken along with all of my full bricks due to transportation. These arrived on time to be able to finish a customers order. They held the heat well and I would recommend them to anyone trying to do a knife or 2 DIY. Be aware that they are SOFT firebricks and must be treated with much more care than a hard fire brick, but because of that they are able to retain heat much better. These get a 5 star from me. Zero complains.

Excellent product. Exceptional packaging.
Despite extraordinarily good packaging and packing and Fragile labels all over the place, the four excellent bricks just arrived with minor damage. Not a problem for my purposes, but annoying that there should be any evidence at all of so much careless handling. Seller will be getting five-stars for keeping up their end of the transaction. These bricks are sturdy enough to be used in a furnace insulation repair. I've found in the past that insulating bricks can be easily shaped and cut with low-cost wood working saws and hole saws. They can be secured with self-tapping screws or furnace repair caulk. If a hard exposed surface is required there are refractory coatings that can be mixed with water and painted on. (Furnace repair caulk tends not to be so easy to apply but can serve in a pinch.I'm pleased with both the price and the quality.

arrived damage
these bricks are inherently fragile. do not order them from amazon unless you are OK with the bricks being cracked and missing pieces. other than that, they are excellent.

Great Fire Bricks
I bought these as a birthday present for my son to make into a mini forge for blade making. He has wanted to make his own knives for a while. There is an excellent youtube video that shows you how made by OUTDOORS55.

Great fire bricks
I bought these for my husband to use on his workbench when he's working with his torch. He was surprised and a little skeptical when they came because they are so much lighter weight than what he used to have. But they have been working out great, and are so nice and easy for him to move around and store than much heavier ones would be.

Flimsy, but effective. Be prepared to repair and replace often.
So I chose 3 stars because, yes, they are EXTREMELY fragile and lightweight. Most of them cracked and broke within the first few days. However, the DO do an excellent job of reflection the heat, AND because of the "fluffy" nature of these particular bricks, they pair well with denser ones. Additionally, once they become so broken and small they are "unusable" put the pieces in a container, like a coffee can or an old propane cylinder and crush them into dust (****WEAR A RESPIRATOR FOR YOUR HEALTHS SAKE!****) and add some distilled water, or better yet, water glass (sodium silicate solution) and mix it into a paste. Boom, you now have hight temp adhesive to use for repairs and whatnot. Your welcome. Recycle everything. Always.

Works well in homemade forge
I built a small propane forge with these bricks and a couple of fireplace bricks from the hardware store (single burner sourced from Mathewson Metals). These bricks are the ones to get. The hardware store bricks are showing wear from the heat, with some voids starting to appear where material has crumbled away. These brick still look like new after heating to orange hot for hours at a time. They are soft, and you could easily break or damage them if you are rough on them, but heat isn't a problem. I welded this thing together, and I am not looking forward to replacing those hardware store bricks.
