I have diverticulitis which leaves me feeling sluggish and bloated after eating, so the NP I see suggested modifying my diet and adding a probiotic. I wanted to find one that was gentle enough to take every day that would help me get regulated without giving me gastric distress in the process.Knowing I can trust the integrity of the ingredients and the quality of the product is very important to me, so after researching various probiotic products I decided to try Optibac, and I'm glad I did. Knowing that the company's been in business since 2004, is highly rated on Trust Pilot, has an actual web site with contact information, and they've won numerous prestigious awards including the highly sought-after Queen's Award gives me confidence in the product.These probiotic capsules come in a sealed amber colored glass jar, and the caps themselves are easy to swallow. I've been taking one with breakfast each day and I no longer feel gastric pain after eating, and my energy level is improving as well. Sure, there are probiotics with higher amounts of bacteria counts per capsule around, but I like how gentle these are on my system.

I've been trying a number of herbal supplements and probiotics to reduce diarrhea and bad gas from colitis. I give them each five or six days to show me some results. Some help and some don't. It doesn't mean that they might not do some good for someone else with another condition or even do me some good after six, seven or eight weeks. So, even if it doesn't do anything for me, I don't give it a rating lower than three stars, also because I can't be sure it isn't doing some good that I don't see.Optibac is a well-know British producer of probiotics. I have three different formulations of their probiotics. Each of their pobiotics affects me differently. The first one I tried did not produce any improvement. I see a small improvement with this one, although not enough of an improvement to make me want to continue with it, so after a few days I will go on to the third and last, which promises to be the strongest.

The capsules are relatively small and easy to swallow with liquid. After swallowing, I have experienced no issues with burping or aftertaste. The capsules measure approximately 0.75 in (1.75 cm) in length. The ingredients label on the glass jar is written in Spanish. The product is made in the UK.The label claims that each capsule consists of 5 billion CFU (colony forming units) with several different popular strains of bacteria (weighing 145 mg). The capsule contains 88 mg of prebiotic in the form of fructo-oligosacharide (FOS). Prebiotic is essentially food for probiotic bacteria. As an aside, Onions, bananas, whole oats, and apples are good sources of prebiotic nutrients.Bacteria strains include:Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11Lactobacillus acidophilus/helveticus Rosell-52Bifobacterium breve Rosell-70Bifobacterium bifidum Rosell-71Lactococcus lactis Rosell-1058Unfortuantely, there is no breakdown of the individual strain counts or weights. Does it equal parts of each strain? Or 4 billion units of lactobacillus, and equal parts of the others? We don't know.Moreover, this Optibac probiotic supplement has not been verified by a third party (e.g. USP, NSF, ConsumerLab). Third party verification indicates that the product contains the ingredients listed on the label, in the declared potency and amounts. Thus, I cannot recommend it.

According to the box, this probiotic was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Impressive! This UK manufacturer makes a high quality vegan probiotic. My digestive system is happy with this formula! I like that there is a small bit of prebiotic in the capsule (probably the potato starch) allowing the good bacteria to multiply easily. I’m grateful for the vegan capsule. Some probiotics seem to have little effect, but this one seems quite effective. I’ve been using probiotics and fiber to get my IBS under control, and this is one of my faves as far as digestibility and effectiveness.Packaging for this is impressive, as the company aspires to remove all unnecessary plastic. The box is fully recyclable, and the glass jar (also fully recyclable, of course) is stored safely in a cardboard insert, also fully recyclable. The only item that would be hard to recycle in the US is the lid. I take a lot of supplements, and I get concerned about the carbon footprint of all that plastic. This is a nice option, and I wish more companies would go in this direction. Highly recommended, with no downsides in my opinion. I hope this helps you as much as it helps me!

Imideatly after opening this Supplement by OPTIBAC, I was very impressed at the size and quality of the capsule jar. The container suggests that this pre and probiotic are well made.So how do they work?I have taken these for continuous seven days, and I have noticed Better bowl movements even after eating a daily scone, which typically causes me to get constipated. And I can digest food more quickly as well.There are other benefits to the Gut, like helping your stomach lining, and immune system, but I can not comment on these at this time.I have used many other brands of probiotics and prebiotics, but never in the same pill or drink mix. I like that they are both together in this supplement.Here is another get aspect of this supplement. The container shows that manufacture date, as well as the expiration date. As I mentioned prior, this supplements container evokes confidence in the product.Because this supplement works fantastically at keeping me regular, I would like to rate this 5x stars.I really recommend this for persons with irritable bowl syndrome.
