AQUALOG FISH SHELTER

this is perfect for large cichlids
I bought one of these a few years ago and for the life of me I couldn’t remember where I bought it.. and my order history wasn’t showing this, so i’m not even sure if the first one came from here.. but since then i’ve ordered 3 more and I would order 4 more right now if I had $100 extra dollars to spend. My large fish (like 10”+ long and 4”+ high) like Oscars, Vieja, Flowerhorn, etc and even full grown common plecos use these with no contortions needed which is what I wanted in case they are chasing each other and need to hide quickly.

Great log for your tank but be very careful of sharp edges!!
I read the reviews before I purchased this for our approximately 10 inch long Pleco and was a little hesitant because of people warning of the sharp edges but was having a hard time finding something big enough for him so I took a chance on this. The log itself is huge and is great for an aquarium hideout if you have multiple fish to use it or a large pleco like we do. He has room to spare and grow into in the future. HOWEVER, the edges on this were extremely sharp! Not so much on the outside (maybe a couple spots on the "bark" of the log) but moreso on the inside edges of the cut outs. I would not feel comfortable putting this inside my aquarium (or with reptiles) without filing them down for fear of your fish/reptile cutting themselves. I used a large metal file we had (a tool not a nail file) to smooth out the insides edges of basically the entire log, the cutouts were the worst by far but also the some sharp spots on the large end openings. Once I did that it was fine and my pleco loves it. So if you're looking for a large log for your fish/reptile this one is great, just be prepared to do a little prep work to get it tank ready.

Nice and roomy
My pleco is 9" nose to tip of tail and this is by far the biggest hide for him that isnt at least $80. He fully fits inside and it's plenty wide for him to stretch his fins out without his spikes getting stuck. Definitely recommend for anyone with a pleco or similar fish, even if they're still just babies.

It looks natural
It looked very natural, especially when the bacteria/LG started to grow on it in the pond. The fish got used to it and love to swim in and out of it.

Looks like someone toss the packaging through a shredder
The item had cracks, but it works. but the packing material was shredded. Had to fish Styrofoam out of my water after doing a thorough cleaning of the object not satisfied

Great log for all fish
All of my fish love these. I've bought 4 now - each time one of my fish gets large enough, I have to buy one or they fight over the others. They are perfect for the larger size fish like the adult Plecos, Razor Knife, etc.

Bought it for my corn snake
Bought it for my corn snake to try and give him more things to climb on and through. I’ve seen him go through it a few times, but he’s also not a happy camper about change. I’d still buy another one, though, because I have another snake who would love it and is more willing to go on adventures with new things for his terrarium
