Do not get this book
I’m known for being a good cook. Unless you know your way very well around the kitchen I would not recommend this book. the recipes often do not come out accurate at all, I always have to play around with the ingredients adjusting cook time etc. some recipes I’ve made a couple of times and if I use her ingredients it never comes out properly I always have to add my own twist. Her dough recipe never comes out right and the kunafeh is not good. I’m fluent in English and have many cookbooks but her recipes have many typos and don’t make sense .

very authentic and beautiful images
I have both of Joudie's cookbooks, Palestine on a Plate and now Baladi. The recipes are authentic and a wonderful way to document our heritage. It reminds me of the beautiful meals made by my family when visiting overseas. The images are gorgeous and evoke a sense of beauty and wonder. I have purchased this book for friends as gifts, as well as copies for my daughters to have for their own cultural keepsakes. Thank you, Joudie for taking the time to document the love and beauty of Palestinian people, culture, and food!

MUST HAVE all-around “FEAST” of a cookbook! 👍
This is the most BEAUTIFUL, delicious recipes, educational, well photographed, artful cookbook I’ve ever owned. Can I say it’s actually made me happy? Seriously, I’ve carefully curated cookbooks over the years, and without hesitation can say hands down this cookbook is AMAZING!I didn’t even know who Joudie Kalla is a chef until I looked it up. While waiting on the cookbook to arrive, I found Joudie Kalla’s Instagram page (titled after he first cookbook: Palestine on a Plate) and her videos. Since it arrived, I seriously can’t put it down, except for making a delicious recipe tonight for dinner. The meals, desserts, & beverages are historically relevant delicious recipes from all over Palestine. Most of the recipes are traditional. There are a couple that are a modern Chef’s delight. I love how she credits recipes from family members and OMG the gorgeous photos! 😍 You’ll definitely want to show this cookbook off on your living room coffee table as well as make it a staple in your kitchen. I highly recommend it. Thank you Joudie Kalla for showcasing these divine recipes in your “Baladi” Palestinian cookbook! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Beautiful book and perfect recipes
My sister and I went to Joudie’s superclub in London and fell in love with her and her recipes. We bought the first book right away! When the second book came out I purchased three copies. One for myself and two for my family.Her recipes are delicious AND accurate to how it’s supposed to be done. With middle eastern food being popular right now it’s hard to find real recipes. Here they are! Her books showcase a delicious truth. Palestine is a beautiful country with a lot of history; especially with food. Joudie displays everything perfectly about Palestine and the Middle East in both books.I definitely recommend purchasing both editions of her books. If you’re ever in London go check out her superclub too.Much love, chef, and I look forward to the next book and superclub.

this book is a must!
Baladi Palestine needs to be a staple for all households no matter what culture you are from. I am Palestinian and could not live without eating our food daily. Unfortunately, our mothers and grandmothers cook without measurements so it’s so hard for them to teach us. Joudie’s book allows us to cook all our staple dishes with the exact recipes. My 12 year old daughter loves cooking from Baladi Palestine. We have so much fun and when we create these amazing dishes, it helps instill our traditions in our children. I’ve also purchased several of these books for friends who are not Palestinian because they love our food. They actually cook more than we do and always send me photos of their dishes. Baladi Palestine is a book you can pass through the generations. One of our favorite dishes is Muttabal Kousa & Fayza’s Idreh/ Ruz Madfoun and for dessert we love Hilbeh. This book is not just a recipe book; it’s a history book with recipes and love. This book is truly needed for everyone who wants to explore our beautiful history and for all those who love our food. If you are a foodie, get this book ASAP.
