ProMixMP Premier Horticulture 3.8CF Pro Mix MP Mycorrhizae Organic

I've been using the ProMix HP for close to 15 years and was happy to find they now have an organic version available. While I haven't tried this yet, I'm sure it will perform well. I've read some reviews of people complaining about the price and, yes, it is expensive, but it's not as costly as it may seem. The ProMix is a compressed bale so, while 3.8 cubic feet of typical bagged soil only fills about a 25-30 gallon container, once hydrated, the 3.8 cubic foot bales of ProMix will yield about 50 gallons. I wouldn't buy this to just throw in the garden, but if you're growing in containers, the ProMix can be "re-charged" with additional fertilizer/nutrients and fresh compost and/or worm castings, and re-used multiple times.

I needed mycorrhizae and maximum porosity for self-watering planters on our back deck (too many deer in the yard), and this formulation works really great. I only need to water 1-2 times a week. The tomatoes, beans, peas, squash and flowers are all growing, flowering and fruiting like mad. There are small plants that germinate in the potting mix, and they must have come from the growing of mycorrhizal fungi in the Promix prior to bagging and shipping. They are easy to remove. For the beans & peas, I added mixed Rhizobium inoculum to get nitrogen fixing nodules, and waited 10 days after planting to add fertilizer.

The PH is right at 6….. lowest I have found. Even ones advertised low are not ad advertised. I bought industrial soil PH tester and have test few of supposed best all high PH. I use super soil additive peat moss and perlite and PH down where I want.

This is a great soil mixture for growing sprouts. I bought a large lidded trashcan to store the soil which makes it really convenient for getting out gallon size bag fulls for use in the house. The soil wets well and stays moist for 4 days while the seeds are germinating. . Arrived in good condition through Amazon shipping. I have bought this several times and will continue to use this brand.

If you are looking at Pro-Mix, you probably already know it's reputation. It's an absolute perfect foundation for a homemade "Super Soil" mix which can save you a whole lot of money and frustration in the long run.

There were bugs in the soil that ate the leaves on my plants!

i didnt know that it would a very heavy bag i couldnt lift it but i the soil is on the moist side hope it will be okay for my house plants ive always have trouble finding the correct potting soil anyone else have the same issue
