I needed a lot of coir to take the place of peat moss in making seed starting mixture this year. I might have gotten too much but I'm fine with that for this price! One brick of this coir filled up about 2/3 of a large wheelbarrow when rehydrated. When mixed with compost and perlite, it made enough starter for about 1200 cups already. I like the quality also. It has a lot more of the husk and less of the fibrous parts of the coconut (that make some coir types look like a shaved orangutan). I love that it is sustainable and doesn't require pH balancing for seeds like peat does. It rehydrates very quickly and has great texture.

These are large, we saw them up into smaller chunks but if you need a lot at once that would work very well too.

Part of my seedling starting and raise garden mix. I just put the whole block in my wheel barrow and add water to half up the block and walk away for a bit. Then come back and break it up. It expands quite a bit. Like four times do you’ll need to know where you’ll store it if you don’t plan on using the entire block. It comes to about four buskers worth. Adds great organic matter that helps loosen my soil and keeps it loamy. I mix 1/3 to 1/3 soil and 1/3 vermiculite and some compost. Perfect!

Better wash this out several times b4 using in a self watering system with a holding tank.alot of work to break down n wash, b buyin the ready made n washed for couple bucks more

Exactly what I wanted! Comes VERY compact and rehydrates great. Holds moisture and is a wonderful addition to my garden soil.

Product description says each brick is 18 gallons but I never got more than about 11 from each brick. If it weren’t for this misrepresentation it would be a fine value and quality.
