Not at all like they say: it's thin plastic (see photo) and doesn't lie flat by any means. The wavyness of the runner makes it move out of place when walked on and the spikes don't help. Definitely poor quality product and hence the cheap prices. Still feel I overpaid and should have invested in a thicker option.

i really like these runners since i set them up to keep my carpet clear at least until the holidays since by then the carpets value will have returned on my investment

The thickness is not enough to keep it straight. And the spikes too small to keep in place over the carpet. But it does the jobs of keeping the snow and mud off of the carpet.

To start off it's not clear plastic. The plastic is black. I kept it anyways. We are using it to keep pets off furniture. Lays pretty flat. The spikes to hold it in place are too big. Would slide around on carpeting.

I’ve had this covering my carpet for about 2 months...the smell is unbearable and I’m going to have to remove it. It does its job but consider the smell.

Nice runner but the plastic-esque smell is WAY overpowering for a few days!! Holy crap!! Other than that, it's a carpet runner and does the job. Might have to place something heavy on one end to get rid of a crease from the rolled up position it's delivered in but no biggie.

It doesn't stay in place. It moves every time you walk on it. It also came with a 3in hold that wouldn't lye down so I had to cut it. I am unhappy with this product and i am unable to replace it due to the fact I had to cut it.
