Horehound Herb Cut & Sifted - 1 lb,(Frontier)

Funny story. Last year I got laryngitis and my neighbor gave me Horehound candy. They helped soothe my throat but no earth-breaking event occurred. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago....I was craving something sweet and all we had were the horehound candies! I consumed about 10 that evening. Don't judge! <Pause there> I was diagnosed a few years ago with Bronchiectasis which is a lung disease that cripples the lungs from expelling mucus. This leads to bacterial infections and lots of breathing and coughing problems. <Hit Play> The next morning I woke up feeling very different. Deep breaths did not lead to coughing. My lungs felt good!! I was befuddled. The only thing that I had changed up in my routine was the horehound candy. So I looked it up on Dr. Google. And sure enough horehound is known to alleviate many respiratory issues. So I ordered the leaves and have made tea.....actually I thought about hooking up an IV! I knew it would be awful tasting based on all the reviews. Sure enough.... However, I did not want to add more sugar to my diet so I just add lemon and let it cool down. The bitterness doesn't even bother me anymore. I have built up some kind of tolerance. It is not a pleasure drink but I put it on the list that apple cider vinegar is on. It has benefits. And I have been breathing better than ever. I normally don't write reviews either but this one deserved it....especially for those that deal with the complications of Bronchiectasis. This company is reliable and their product is excellent. Cheers to horehound!

Great product

I like the health benefits of this herb. As a child, there was always horehound candy around Christmas. I made a tea. Nice golden color and the flavor was very mild though a bit on the bitter side. Honey/sweetener would help this, but the plain flavor is just fine.

Dislike it's very bitter but after a few cups I got used to it. I didn't want to add anything such as honey or sugar to alter it. I do however like it because it does help with a cough and cold.People have to remember that different things work and don't work for different people. What helps me may not help you.

Wooowww this stuff is strong and fresh. When it says use only 1/2 tsp for a whole cup of tea and steep only 3-5 minutes, it MEANS it.
