Not an experienced alum user
Arrived in good shape. I used the powder for mordanting fabric. Seemed to work well.

Great for DIY limewash
I used this to make my own limewash and it worked amazing. I do suggest mixing with boiling water to help dissolve prior to mixing with other limewash components - it was a bit gritty in my test swatches that I didn't do that for.

Great for DIY Limewash!
Used to make homemade limewash for a root cellar; the pic is from the first dilute coat, but already it has great depth and movement/variegation. Easy to dissolve, to add to the lime powder as a binder.

If you have aquariums and need to remove pests from plants, this is what you NEED.
Do you loveeee heavily planted, closed ecosystem, fresh water tanks?Good news! This stuff will kill all pests and it’s super simple to use (Google using alum for aquariums and you’ll see!).I have had… too many pest infestation issues with my tanks because the bleach method kills plants, soaking in salt water can kill plants and whoever thought to use peroxide on plants? Well, you’re extremely wrong and gotta be trolling…Alum however, will kill pests relatively fast! But if you do not trust it, it’s absolutely safe to leave plants in an alum solution filled bucket for like two weeks! (Remember your lighting!)Coolest thing though, you won’t need two weeks, I promise you. This stuff will kill even the most resilient snail eggs, and EVERYTHING ELSE.Here’s the problem though, if you do not soak in water for a few hours after treating with Alum, you risk putting it in your tank… if you have snails, shrimp, frogs, fry, etc… that will cause a problem and possibly death…Happy aquascaping!
