Not very waterproof, heating pad was weak. A good basic shelter though.

Very easy to assemble. The heating pad is automated so it warms up when kitty lays on it. It shipped fast and just in time for cold weather. Was worried our skittish cat wouldn’t get in it. I put her on it several times without the top to show her the warmth and once she understood and started getting in it, then I rolled the top back to close it. She absolutely loves it!

The assembly takes some patience. It has a zipper that connects the roof to the house. It’s kind of complicated to get it to zip where the bends are. Just be patient so you don’t break it.I was disappointed that they only had this extra large one because it’s only for one cat. It says it will fit 3 cats comfortably. Not a chance. 2 average size cats at the most, if they get along. So in my opinion it’s perfect for one cat. No more than two.It has 2 flap doors. I don’t like that. I think they may be that way for easy escape but it just allows more cold and wind in. I think it would be better without it. Maybe if they had an option of a solid piece to Velcro to it instead of the plastic.The plastic doors are why it’s not getting 5 stars. The plastics is much thinner than it appears in the pictures and the pieces aren’t big enough to cover the opening. It’s flimsy and won’t hang straight. I’m going to get some heavier plastic and tape it to what they sent. The pieces they sent have Velcro on them. That’s very convenient. Just super disappointed in the door flaps. There is no way it will stay warm at all in there with what they sent.The heating pad is a nice size and has a soft cover. The last one we used had that sheep skin look and it just collects every bit of debris from a mile around.🙄 I think this one will stay a lot cleaner. It’s bigger too.So far our cat is boycotting it but it’s a very nice day and his best buddy, our livestock guard dog got 2 new beds. He’s busy breaking those in but I have no doubt that he will be happy about it when it gets cold.What we had before were 2 containers from walmart. One bigger than the other and we layered towels all around between them cut holes in the sides for a door and put a heat pad in it. It’s worked well but it was trashy looking. I liked the look of this house a lot. I will probably cover it with a thick blanket this winter to ensure that it stays as warm as the old set up.It does look sturdy. Just got it. Haven’t had to clean it so can’t speak to that. I think it’s a fair price for what it is. Again, the plastic doors are a complete fail but that can be remedied. It’s looks comfortable to me but I can’t fit in it to say for sure.😝 I think I covered all the suggested topics. I like the way it looks a lot. I’m not sorry I got it.Oh and the roof has an overhang and it comes with stakes to secure it to the ground. Ours is on a covered deck so we don’t need those things but if you’re looking for something that will be out in the open, those would be a plus. It’s not heavy. Our inside cats were going crazy trying to get in it so I think cats will like it a lot. Our recipient was just being obnoxious today. Probably because I woke him up to show it to him.😂

This thing has sat outside all winter, in snow storms and on rainy days. For heavy weather I usually place a tarp over top, but have had plenty of branches, metal bits, and other things hit this cathouse dead on without filching. Easy to setup, easy to take down and clean, power cord is well protected. No issues about this being outside all the time on a deck.

Our cat loves it. Works great, warming up when the cat is lying in it. We have it on a covered porch, so I can't speak to how weather-proof it is, but it looks like it would do well in the elements.

I’ve only used it for about 3 nights, so it’s hard to speak to its effectiveness. Right now my main concern is that the heating pad part doesn’t feel as warm as it did when I first plugged it in. Each time I need to plug it in I’m going to check it to see if that corrects itself??? Other than that, I really do like it! It’s really cute, and one kitten likes to sit on top of it.

Fast delivery, quality materials. Easy assembly - until trying to zip the roof on. The stitching that holds the zipper on the side to the roof is embedded too deep that doesn't allow the zipper to go past the starting point. I thought this was an oversight during assembly so I sent it back and ordered another one. The second one I received had the same issue. See photo*I really liked this unit and would order again if the roof would zip on properly.
