Rudraksha seed beads not only are a thing of beauty, but have a spiritual value as well. Rudraksha seeds come from the rudraksha tree, which is a large leaf evergreen tree. The tree can be found around the base of the Himalayas, in Australia, Indonesia, and other areas in southeast Asia. The beads have been used by Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs for malas, meditation, and spiritual growth and protection. They are called "Shiva's tears" because as Shiva opened his eyes after meditation, he wept tears that grew into the Rudraksha tree.
