Friends Forever: 42 Ways to Celebrate Love, Loyalty, and Togetherness

This book could be given as a birthday gift, a just-because gift, or (in my case) a hostess gift.The title is somewhat misleading in stating that it is "42 ways to celebrate love, loyalty, and togetherness," although you might loosely interpret the pictures as doing that. The part of the title that interested me, when I purchased the book, was "Friends Forever." It is a lovely book with beautiful, clear, colorful photos of animals (none of which are in human clothes), with appropriate annotations related to friendship. For instance, a picture of a curly-haired alpaca has an accompanying explanation that, "There's no such thing as a bad hair day in the eyes of a good friend." Further, there is small bit of little-known information about each animal, unobtrusively written in a smaller, italic font at the bottom of each written page next to the animal's picture. (This was neither a distraction nor a benefit, from my point of view...just somewhat interesting.)At the same time as purchasing this book, I also purchased the book FRIENDS TO THE END, by Bradley Trevor Greive. Had I seen both in a bookstore and looked through them, I would have chosen FRIENDS FOREVER and not bothered with FRIENDS TO THE END. This, in my opinion, is far better than Greive's book. (See my review of his book, if you're interested.)I'm glad that I made this purchase, and I think my friend will enjoy it, too.

Most of the items were gifts

This is the most adorable book ever! I had seen it advertised in a paper and checked it out. I bought it for a dear little girl who loves animals and will always be my friend, she's going to love it. The pictures are accompanied by wonderful writing, some humorous and some very touching. All in all I don't think you can go wrong with this book, no matter your age or the age of the recipient. It's just wonderful!

Gave this book to a friend right before she started her chemotherapy treatments. She loved the penguins on the cover.She told me she took the book with her to some of her treatments and had everyone laughing. It has brightened the dayfor a number of people. It is a light hearted book with plenty of cute animals. Good for a gift.

Got this for one of my best friends, she is always there for me and this will be a hit I know! Just the right touch to thank her for being an awesome friend! =:o)

I purchased (3) of these books. Two for my grandsons and one for an older friend all who are big time animal lovers. The pictures are fantastic and the quotes are warm and loving. I gave these books as a keepsake and everyone loved them.

This was a birthday gift for my best friend. I went through it first, added a caption here and there. We both loved the book. The photos are priceless. Wonderful book for your "BFF."
