I was expecting something like the normal granulated sugar. In pourability, it is more like a cross between white and brown sugar. There are clumps in the date sugar that required breaking up. I put the date sugar in a shaker that has larger holes. The small clumps pass through and break apart when I cook in oatmeal. I find that it is not as sweet as granulated white sugar, so if you are looking for the same sweetness you may need to use more. It also cakes together in the container even though there is a lid on it. Unlike brown sugar that can set up hard, a little tap on the counter loosens it, at least so far. Since I am not hung up on sweetness, I enjoy the less taste of sweetness and enjoy knowing I am getting benefits from the date since it uses the whole date minus the seed.

Date sugar is not like the white sugar most of us were raised on. Date sugar is made by dehydrating dates and turning them into a powder. According to what I have read about it, date sugar does not give the same spike to your blood sugar that refined sugar does because it is still part of the date plant complex. That’s great if you want to add a sweetener to some of your foods or recipes. It doesn’t dissolve well in liquids (coffee, etc) but works well in baking cookies. I also enjoy it with oatmeal or granola. I gave up refined sugar years ago and no longer miss it. Date sugar fills the need for when I do want to add a little sweetness to my diet.

I like this product. It does clump very easily. The clumps can be difficult to breakup, but it’s not bad. I love this as a natural sweetener. It’s a quality product without a bunch if additives.

Negative : The date sugar is bland tasting doesn't taste at all like dates .Positive : Colleen heard my concern and was so kind enough to refund my money and actually sent me her Date Syrup Product to try. Now oh my god that tastes GREAT! I would recommend her date syrup product. I am a vegan bodybuilder and runner so I need carbs to workout and need a product like this that doesn't weigh me down . I use this Date Syrup product in my pre and post workout smoothies it tastes great with my protein powder. I even use her Date Syrup in my green smoothies and it tastes so delicious. The Date Syrup I recommend buying.

Purchasing the date syrup was...'OH SO WONDERFUL!!' The sweet flavor was smoother than honey as I took a small spoonful just so I could get in the mood for all the recipes I had in store for using this product. And Oh, the bbq sauce was a surprising feature!! With all of the bbq sauces I've had in my lifetime, only two came close to being the top. But this date bbq sauce has hands down become now my favorite bbq sauce! Not only does this sauce has the taste to satisfy the most finicky grill master, but it is also free of all those unnecessary chemicals and added sugars that are in most store bought bbq sauces that can cause serious damage to your health. I am now a fan of not only of the date syrup and sugar but I am now a new fan of the 'Date Lady date bbq sauce!

I use this as a better substitute for white sugar with all of my baking. I was sent the wrong item from Amazon once and Date Lady sent me the correct product without any hassels to return the wrong item. They have excellent customer service. I gave four stars for value because the price changes widely and that is frustrating. I have tried other date sugars, but Date Lady is the best!

I bought them thinking it would taste great (afterall it's pulverized dates right?).. OMG... the taste and aftertaste is nothing like dates!!! I honestly thought I would throw-up that's how bad it was. Maybe you can tolerate it but I tried and couldn't. Such a waste of my money IMHO. Sorry!!!!

This date sugar is awesome! I made my favorite peanut butter cookie recipe which I’ve made for years and love. This time instead of rolling the cookies in regular sugar I rolled them in date sugar and they were the best they’ve ever been! Next I’m planning to use date sugar in place of regular sugar in pumpkin pie. I’m sure it will be delicious! I’m also planning to try it in banana bread. Can’t wait! It is expensive compared to regular sugar but it’s so good I think it’s worth the price.
