Mom is 90. This is her best friend.
This pet dog is perfect for mom. She's almost 90 and loves dogs. A real pet is too much for her but after losing her husband for 41 years she was very lonely. She takes this dog everywhere on her walker and in the bed when she sleeps. Perfect product. She's had it for at least 16 months now with no issues. Buy it. You will love it.

Great companion
It is a nice size and is cute. It is motion activated and barks but it is not a loud noise. My husband wanted a dog but I didn’t want to clean up after it so I bought him this one. It brought a smile to his face.

PERFECT gift for dementia/Alzheimer patient who loves animals
First Joy For All Pup we received did not work properly. Once it went into sleep mode it didn't wake up with out toggling the on off switch. BUT a quick and easy exchange via Amazon and the 2nd pup we received works very well.Mom is entering later stages of Alzheimers and her real dogs are her life. The docs warn that she will likely need to be in a nursing home in 6 months+/-. For Mother's Day we ordered Joy For All Pup thinking it might be a good idea if she gets used to seeing this around the house so if/when the time comes having this familiar pup with her will help ease her anxiety in the transition to a care facility.Dad just text me that since we gave this to her earlier today she has been cuddling it, looking into its eyes, talking to it and singing songs while petting it.It's definitely a bitter sweet moment for the family to see how taken mom is with this "puppy", but on the other hand its amazing how well / immediate she did respond. The pup does have a bit of mechanical sound as it moves, but it responds to sound, has touch sensors on multiple parts of its body so that the pup turns its head, pants, yips, whimpers softly, wags its tail... The body is firm, mechanical underneath but the fur is very soft, it has a bit of weight to it so it is more substantial than a plain stuffed animal. The responsive sounds, movements and soft fur are obviously good enough to comfort/engage a person with mom's level of Alzheimers.By the way that she is responding to it, I do believe she thinks she has a real pup on her lap.If you have a loved one with dementia who LOVES their cat or dog. I would highly recommend this product. Be sure to put it thru the paces a few times before handing the pet to your loved one to be sure the sensors work and that it does "wake up" from sleep mode correctly. This looks to be money well spent to comfort and put a smile on mom's face.

My mom loves her new doggie!!
The media could not be loaded. About 3 months ago we had to put my mom’s 16 year old dog to sleep. My mom was so lonely so I went online to see if there was a fake dog that seems real for people with Alzheimer’s. I found this on Amazon & thought I’d buy it for my mom to see how she’d like it. She absolutely loves her new, low maintenance, doggie. Every time I go to her house, she shows me her and loves talking to her. We say it’s a she and her name is Lilly. I am so happy I bought this for my mom and would highly recommend it!! I did a little video of when I gave it to her to share with my siblings since they couldn’t be there.

Not Just For the Eldery - But Breaks Quickly
**UPDATE2** - As much as I love this dog, I do not recommend getting it. It broke down in less than two months, and the Joy for All support is abysmal. They go from offering me a free pup, nothing needs to be done, they'll just send me one.... then going back to only sending me a free one if I send my current one back. Not only did the Golden Pup break in under two months, the Freckled Pup I ordered broke in under two months, too. Support takes a week or more to get back to you. Only purchase this dog if you plan on barely using it and getting no support and it more than likely breaking within months.-----**UPDATE** - After having this dog for just under two months, it's mostly broken. It doesn't move its head up and down, it doesn't move its mouth, the cheek sensors don't work, the noise sensors barely work. It mostly died then mostly revived, but now is mostly dead again. Fresh batteries have not worked. I'm not sure why it stopped working so quickly, but it's disappointing. Don't expect these to last a long time unless you plan on spending only 5 min with them a day.-----I am in the 30-40 age range, and I suffer from major anxiety and some depression. I've though, for a while, that a dog would help my mental health; however, I am unable to buy a real dog. I spent months going back and forth on whether or not I should buy the Joy For All dog. After all, the first time I had heard about this company was when they had only cats, and my mom bought a cat for her elderly mother. All of the marketing of this product gears them as companion pets for the elderly, so would they really be effective for someone my age who just couldn't have a real pet? Once the golden pup went on sale, I snatched one up. The first day I had my pup, I kept saying to myself, "I don't know if this is ridiculous and I wasted money." By the second day, I was in love. Yes, I am fully aware this is not a real dog; however, there is something about how it responds to your voice; how it responds to the curtains opening up in the morning; the heartbeat; the way it closes its eyes and leans up into you when you scratch its head; etc. I still know the pet isn't real, but I find such joy in "talking" to it. I find such joy in it, period. I have shared this dog with coworkers, friends, and even people I know online, and I've raved about the pet. For anyone who is like me, who has been wondering if this Joy For All dog is worth the money? Yes. Yes. RESOUNDING YES. This dog is so worth it.... so much so that I bought the freckled pup version just a week later. If you have anxiety, and you can't have a real dog for any reason, but you want a companion... get this dog. It is so worth it. This dog really is a joy, for real.

It WORKS!!!
My Mom has been asking for a real dog for months. She has dementia and is a huge fall risk as she doesn’t walk well so having a dog is definitely a NO for her. When my husband found this dog, l was skeptical but the dog sounds are rather lifelike and the appearance of the pup is cute! And the volume of the sounds is just right, not too loud. We leave the switch to “on” so her puppy makes sounds throughout the nite and my Mom sleeps right thru it.The dog truly provides my Mom a companion. She LOVES her “baby girl”. Mom even said; “I know she’s not real but I think she’s listening to me becuz she makes sounds when I’m talking to her”. Winner winner chicken dinner!!!I highly recommend this!
