I have tried six different brands of Tongkat Ali over the past few years, and this one has produced the best results of them all.I have learned a few things in my testing:- It seems like the more bitter and strong tasting the TA is, the more likely it will be effective. I have tried a few that were not as bitter, and didn't taste as terrible; but I also noticed almost no results at all. So yes, the taste is awful, but the bitter taste lets you know that it is likely a quality product.- The cycling of 5 days on and 2 days off doesn't seem to make sense for me. I have tried this cycling for three months, and I have also tried 10 days on and 5 days off for three months. Then I tried just taking it every day for three months. Taking it every day produced the best results, with no side effects that I could tell. When taking it every day, there also didn't seem to be any tolerance increase over three months that would produce less effects with the same dose. It seemed just as effective after three months. Interestingly, the 10 days on and 5 days off felt like it produced better results than the 5 and 2 cycle, in terms of consistent libido and strength improvement. So for me, every day is best, and if I were going to cycle I would choose 10 and 5 over 5 and 2.- Sleep seems to be a big factor for me. If I have several days with 5 or less hours of sleep, I notice almost no benefit from this supplement. With 7 or more hours of sleep there is a huge difference.I have also noticed somewhat of a synergistic effect with other supplements, but this review is not about those so if you are interested ask me about those too.All in all this is the best TA I've found so far. This is a tough review. The recommended dosage listed on the package says twice a day for 5 days then cycle out for two days. I received the product on a Tuesday evening so I decided to start on that day. Did 2 twice a day for 3 days in a row then cycled out on the weekend. The first three days were great. Mood was up, morning wood was pretty much all night, I began to feel a rush of energy and strength and I also started to get urges for sex during the day which is something that I had grown out of gradually after my early 40s. Everything was great. After cycling out and restarting the on Monday I began to get headaches and joint pains. I still felt the extra strength and energy but my libido and morning wood were pretty much gone. Now the taste: This taste like something that should be inside a capsule. The taste is completely unpalatable. Not sure if you've ever tasted woodworm but this taste just like it just so much more bitter. I found my self taking it with a shot of pomegranate juice. Somewhere towards the late second week of use I started to get indigestion and one night it all just came back up. The burning sensation combined with the horrible taste was just something I never want to experience again.I'm giving this 3 stars because1.) it blends well with water and juice,2.) it actually worked as intended for the first three days.3.) I intend to try it again after seeing if maybe I was combining it with a food that may have reacted poorly to it.4.)I'm in my ate 40s and I really do miss the old me that was a horndog, would bang anything that moved. I would be willing to put up with that taste in exchange for an increase production of testosterone.

Was able to feel the results quickly. Got to watch out for increased feelings of aggression and increased interest in sex. I used this to make my own capsules, and saved a lot doing it that way.

Have used many different Tongkat Ali powders in the past and have had excellent results with them especially one particular brand. Tried this MicroIngredients TA and I must have gotten a bad batch. Their product info says "Non-Contaminated" but this batch had to be contaminated with some potent bacteria or something. I always use between 1/3 to 3/4 teaspoon of any Tongkat Ali powders that I have used in the past (depending on the intensity of the effect I desire). I most always take on an empty stomach and can start feeling the effects within the hour (I never experienced any positive effects with the low doses recommended on the various companies packages).This time I took 2/3 tsp. of the MicroIngredients Tongkat Ali and within 2 minutes my stomach started feeling sick and got worse as the minutes went by. At 5 minutes after taking, I laid down on the couch and as each minute went by I started feeling like I needed to throw-up. At about 20 minutes in, I rolled over on my side, grabbed the waste basket next to the couch and began to throw-up, on and off over the next 15 minutes, into the waste basket the glass of water and 2/3 tsp. of the Tongkat Ali that I had consumed on an empty stomach, until it was all out of my system. Have never experienced this with any other Tongkat Ali at the same doses and on an empty stomach. This batch must have been infested with some really bad bacteria or some ingredient that shouldn't have been in there.Have used many other MicroIngredients products and been extremely satisfied with all of them until this Tongkat Ali. Will never order their Tongkat Ali again but will continue to use their many other products.UPDATE July 2, 2019: After additional research, have found that many Tongkat Ali products are contaminated with fungus and other toxins. My batch that I received must have been contaminated with one or the other of these. Have returned to Amazon and received a prompt refund.
