Awesome pole saw!
I am in love with this pole saw! I do have a couple chain saws, but I use them sparingly for bigger jobs because they are more dangerous and require a lot of maintenance. A few years ago I started pruning and trimming with an electric reciprocating saw that I fitted with a long pruning blade. No gas, no bar oil, no blade sharpening or adjustments, the only downside is that it was heavy to work with and required an extension cord. I had been looking everywhere for a battery powered pole saw with a reciprocating blade and Ukoke made my dreams come true! After using it a couple times I feel comfortable recommending it to others!Pro's:The Ukoke pole saw is lightweight but extends out pretty far. It is easy to handle and fun to use.The saw is powerful enough for light to medium pruning jobs. The blade that it comes with is SHARP!If the battery is fully charged, this saw does run for a good 30 minutes or so. The batteries have light indicators to let you know their current charge. They charge up pretty fast.I bought an extra battery from Ukoke, which was a little pricey but it allows me to rotate them out and use the saw more. These batteries can also be used on other Ukoke garden equipment, which I plan to buy.Con's:I do wish that there was an adapter that allowed this pole saw to be plugged directly into a standard electrical outlet, which would bypass the need for a battery when working close to a house.I also wish that the Ukoke store on Amazon offered more replacement parts and had more items in stock.Overall, this is a great pole saw if this is what you are looking for! It easily cut through hardwood limbs that were 1-5" thick. I highly recommend!

compare to Ryobi and Sun Joe pole saws
I own a ryobi 8 pole saw and a sun joe extension saw,, Sun joe ( small motor) has no added poles, just undo like this aw and extend, but the chain falls off all the time, ( drive wheel problem ) It also only good for 10 cuts,, the Ryobi which I own all the 18 volt tools has a big head and it is angled... I live in the Desert and every tree, brush , cactus will stab you so I went on the hunt for a sawzall extension saw,, and here is is,, has a slide adjustment, and also a 3 foot extension to go 8 feet. My step son came out to trim trees yesterday and if someone is going to break a tool it would be him,,Pros,, cut thru Iron wood tree and Palo verde tree, and mequite trees like butter, also with additional 3 foot extension, works well, ( I live on 5 acres, these extensions are a pain to carry around if needed or not),,,Cons,, if you force it thru the cut like most people trying to make stuff cut faster ( kid is a landscaper and hard on tools, all gas) just let it cut with the weight of the pole, It cut thru 1-4 inch with ease, THE problem is, it handled about 10 cuts before the battery croaked,, a 2uh,, I cant afford to buy different batteries as extra all the time and thankful for my other stuff, The sun Joe and this one are similiar but I have not tried the sun joe,, it is a drawback to get a small battery and additional batteries are half the cost of the tool,, That being said I have kept up with my trees and just trim annually, I would recommend this for yearly yard keep up, if you are not in a hurry,, The saw blade fits in places my chain saws cannot.. we will update as the time goes on. It also showed 2 lights when it wouldnt cut anymore extended,, this has been a problem also with cheap aftermarket batteries I got for the Ryobi.

Excellent Product!!! Smooth Like Butter!
I must say, these days, I'm super skeptical of the quality of most goods that Amazon sells. I pioneered this and took a leap of faith. It would seem the other 5 star reviews were indeed true to form, because I assembled this pole saw out of the box and didn't even give it a charge before using it to cut a lot of really thick branches off the top of my front yard Ficus tree.It cuts through branches like butter! Had I charged it before use, I can only imagine how much more I could have done and, but I didn't even need to. It got the job done on a partial charge from the factory. The one thing I will say is to outright ignore the safety glasses this comes with lol the band snapped instantly while trying to put them on, but it's no big deal. I think most people have a decent pair of safety glasses.Other than that, the actual power tool performs excellently!!! I highly recommend this if you have branches to cut and are apprehensive about pole chainsaws. I've used those too and none of them compare. This is intelligently designed and very quiet. Very limited encounters with smaller branches wanting to fold down when attempting to cut them. The saw actually pulls branches right up to the guard to lock them in place while cutting them as another review pointed out.All in all, this is the tool most people don't know exist and are probably wanting when it comes to trimming, pruning, and all around quick and easy garden work that requires something along the lines of a hedge trimmer. Go with this, you won't be sorry you did!(Excuse the photo, I took a bit too much off the top left with my manual clippers before ordering this. I'm no landscaper, but especially with that in mind, this saw works great for the average person looking to do a bit of upkeep.)

good for smaller trim jobs.
Light weight and safer than chain saws which was my reason for purchase. Low maintenance and easy blade removal/change. Tiny motor so I don't know about longevity . Some plastic components have a cheap feel like the battery release button . I think this unit is a little pricey given that its really a tiny reciprocating saw on a pole. Having said that, it appears to be the only one of its kind available and works well out of the box and takes a lot of strain off the back when trimming down low. I would recommend this product so far but I have only used 2x. Best for trimming branches 3" and under IMO.
